The huge Christian cathedral constructed in honor of the apostle Peter on a place of its martyr death in which its relics rest.
It is constructed by the Christian emperor Constantine the Great in 326.

He invited for work on the project of the ingenious architect Donat Bramante and in 1506 the project of a cathedral which had to eclipse on greatness, beauty and the sizes all existing pagan and Christian temples was approved.
All great architects and painters of Italy participated in construction of a cathedral for more than 100 years: Bramante, Raphael Santi, Peruzzi, Antonio de Sangallo, Michelangelo, Bernini, Giacomo della of Port, Vinyoll, Carlo Moderna.
